Spending more time at home than ever before means that you might not have used your makeup and hair care tools in a while. Leaving them as is can damage the bristles and texture, making it impossible to use them further.

So, if you want to save yourself the trouble of finding a perfect makeup brush set again, then gather your tools and get cleaning. Scroll down to see a step-by-step guide to cleaning your makeup and hair brushes.

Step 01: Hair brushes and combs have a lot of product buildup and stray hair strands entangled in the bristles, which you need to get rid of by cutting with the help of a scissor.

Step 02:  Take a big dish and fill it with warm water. Add a few drops of disinfecting liquid hand wash like the Lifebuoy Total 10 Hand Wash and soak the brush in it for some time. If you use a wooden brush, don’t soak it entirely; just submerge the bristles.

Step 03: Dip and shake the brush a few times to loosen the dirt, dead cells and product buildup between the bristles.

Step 04: Next, take an old toothbrush and deep clean the bristles to remove all the dirt stuck between the bristles.

Step 05: Lastly, rinse it under tap water and wipe the base with a clean cloth. Let the brush dry off, bristles facing down.

Step 01: Start by moistening the bristles of your makeup brush while holding them upside down.

Step 02: Take a bowl of water and add a few drops of baby shampoo to it; it is gentle and won’t affect the quality of your makeup brushes.

Step 03: Soak and swirl the brush in this water to remove product residue, dirt, oil and more.

Step 04: Swirl it lightly on the palms of your hands and rinse it till water runs clear.

Step 05: Squeeze excess water and leave it on a towel flat to dry for a few hours.
